Workmanship Warranty & Insurance

Every new roof we install is backed in writing by our Complete Limited Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, and Defend Roofing and Construction LLC carries commercial general liability insurance. Here is exactly what that means, with the full terms below.

The short version

  • How long: installation workmanship on a new roof is covered for as long as your shingle manufacturer's warranty. Roof repairs are not covered by this lifetime warranty.
  • What it covers: defects in how we installed your roof. If we confirm one, we fix it at no charge.
  • What it does not cover: material defects (those fall under the manufacturer's warranty), storm and weather damage, and the other exclusions listed below.
  • If you sell your home: the warranty can transfer once to the next owner within two years of completion.
  • Insurance: Defend Roofing and Construction LLC carries commercial general liability insurance. A certificate of insurance is available on request.

Complete Limited Lifetime Workmanship Warranty

Defend Roofing warrants all installation workmanship against defects for the duration of the shingle manufacturer's warranty. We perform all work using quality materials in accordance with applicable building codes.

Coverage

We warranty that all installation work performed by Defend Roofing will be free of defects in workmanship for as long as the life of the shingle. If a valid workmanship defect is found, Defend Roofing will repair, replace, or refund the cost of the failed service at Defend Roofing's option.

How to file a warranty claim

Contact Defend Roofing at 512-777-1751 or info@defendroofing.com to report an issue. Describe the problem and request a warranty inspection. Defend Roofing will schedule an appointment to inspect the premises. If a valid workmanship defect is confirmed, we will resolve it at no charge within a reasonable timeframe.

Transfer

This labor warranty is for the benefit of the Buyer and shall only apply to installation work performed by Defend Roofing. The labor warranty is transferable to one homeowner only, within the first two years from the completion date. Once transferred to a new owner, the warranty becomes non-transferable.

Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  1. Material defects or product failure. These are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
  2. Acts of God, including weather, earthquakes, hurricanes, hail, lightning, ice dams, flooding, or atmospheric conditions.
  3. Mold, mildew, or humidity issues, which are the homeowner's responsibility.
  4. Damage from misuse, vandalism, poor maintenance, incompatible materials, or failure to maintain the roof.
  5. Pre-existing conditions or damage beyond Defend Roofing's control.
  6. Normal wear, fading, color variations, or weathering.
  7. Damage from corrosion, salt air, or chemical exposure.
  8. Any claim not submitted within a reasonable time of discovering the issue.
  9. Costs related to removal, disposal, or encapsulation of hazardous materials.

No other warranties

This workmanship warranty is the only warranty provided by Defend Roofing. No employee, representative, or agent has authority to make other warranty promises. Defend Roofing makes no other express or implied warranties. Defend Roofing is not liable for incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages. Defend Roofing's liability is limited to amounts received for services rendered.

Insurance

Defend Roofing and Construction LLC carries commercial general liability insurance. If you, your HOA, or your property manager need proof of coverage before work starts, ask and we will have a certificate of insurance sent to you.
