Defend Roofing is a father-son roofing company based in Lago Vista, serving Point Venture and Briarcliff on Lake Travis. We start with a free 100+ photo inspection of your roof. Repairs start at $395, and full replacements start at $7,900, priced on the roof's actual scope. Call or text 512-777-1751.
Chris and Greyson Buster run the company, we come from a third-generation roofing family, and our crews bring 20+ years of combined roofing experience.
Point Venture sits on the north bank of Lake Travis, and Briarcliff is on the south shore. Both have recorded damaging storm winds. On April 2, 2017, the National Weather Service attributed damage in Point Venture to 70 to 80 mph straight-line winds. KXAN reported several roofs ripped off structures, and the Austin American-Statesman reported the roof peeled off an association-owned pool house.
On May 28, 2021, a personal weather station near Thurman Bend Rd, just east of Briarcliff, measured a 64 mph gust, and dime-size hail was reported in Point Venture that same evening. On May 10, 2026, a weather station just north of Point Venture logged a 55 mph gust.
After a windy storm, look for:
Point Venture: The Village of Point Venture lists re-roofing among the alterations that may need a building permit. The village says the surest way to find out is to call the Village Office at 512-267-5511. Applications are turned in at the Village Office, 411 Lohman Ford Road. Point Venture also has a property owners association, so check its rules before you change roof material or color.
Briarcliff: The Village of Briarcliff handles building permits through its village office at 512-264-2274. The Briarcliff Property Owners Association has an Architectural Control Committee with its own application for all types of construction and published construction specifications. Before a reroof, check with both the village and the BPOA.
We inspect first. We get on the roof, take 100+ photos and show you exactly what we found. If a repair solves the problem, we recommend the repair. If the roof needs replacing, the photos show you why.
Your price is based on the roof's real size, pitch and materials, and it comes in writing. Crews clean the jobsite before they leave. New roofs carry a workmanship warranty that lasts as long as the shingle manufacturer's warranty; repairs are not covered by it. Details are on our warranty page. We hold a 5.0 Google rating from 50+ reviews, which you can read on our reviews page.
After hail or high wind, we inspect your roof and photo-document what we find. We write an estimate and can meet your adjuster on site to walk through it. Claim decisions stay between you and your insurance company. If there's no storm damage, we tell you that.
Possibly. The Village of Point Venture lists re-roofing among the alterations that may require a building permit, and it asks owners to call the Village Office at 512-267-5511 to confirm. Point Venture also has a property owners association, so review its rules if you plan to change roof material or color.
Check before you start. The Briarcliff Property Owners Association has an Architectural Control Committee, an application for all types of construction and written construction specifications. The Village of Briarcliff issues building permits separately. Contact the BPOA office and the village office before work begins, and keep the approval with your project records.
